FTOZ (Frontotemporo orbitozygomatic osteotomy) commonly used as an expansion to pterional craniotomy to minimize brain retraction. It is initially described by Hakubaet al., later refined. Common indications include paraclinoid aneurysms, skull base lesions in the anterior and middle cranial base. A no. of variations and modifications has been developed in the last two decades pushing the boundaries with increased working space and minimizing iatrogenic brain injury. Through the cover images, we intend to provide illustrations of common neurosurgical techniques serially.
