Cover photograph

Contributed by Dr Sandip Chatterji, Honorary Professor and Head of Neurosurgery, Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), Kolkata and Consultant Neurosurgeon, Park Clinic, Kolkata.

This picture was shot in Ladakh, underexposed to an aperture of 16 with a Nikon D7000 camera. It shows the valley above the famous Pankgong Lake. The intentional underexposure helps to capture the mystical nature of the sun's rays on the snow at 14,000 feet.
