Clinicopathologial features of six cases of rhinocerebral zygomycosis are described. The diagnosis was based on the demonstration of broad, non-septate hyphae in tissue sections. Four patients had rhinocerebral/rhinoorbitocerebral zygomycosis and one had isolated cerebral zygomycosis. Intense polymorphonuclear response was the pathological feature in 4 patients. Three cases had angioinvasion resulting in haemorrhage, infarction and necrosis.
